Application Period Deadlines: March 1 (period 1) or September 1 (period 2)

Scholarship Criteria & Information

1. Must be an Individual member of NEWWA and/or your utility employer must be a member for at least two years to be eligible for consideration.

2. Must be actively employed in the field of water works. The scholarship can be used for:

• Educational registration fees and materials that will improve the skill level of the operator. Courses in any related discipline are acceptable; as example, distribution, treatment, water quality, computers, safety, management, public speaking, etc.

• Persons working for non-profit organizations who routinely provide training and/or technical assistance to water works personnel.

• Persons working for profit making organizations who routinely provide training and/or technical assistance to water works personnel.

3. Must submit application for the scholarship to the Scholarship Committee prior to attendance at the training program. Application periods will be from January to March (closing March 1 with the awards being made by April 1) and July to September (closing on September 1 with awards being made by September 30).

4. Must submit application to the Scholarship Committee. The Membership Coordinator will confirm applicant’s membership in NEWWA for the minimum of two years. A response to the applicant will be provided within 30 days following the application closing dates in #3 above.
